Training on KOK Emissions Unintentionally Produced in Industrial Production in Turkey
Under POPs Legacy Elimination and POPs Release Reduction Project, Training on KOK Emissions Unintentionally Produced in Industrial Production in Turkey was held on 22nd February-24th March 2017, in İskenderun Anemon Hotel and İsdemir İskenderun Iron and Steel Works Factory.
Training began with the opening speeches of United Nations Industrial Development Project Deputy Technical Coordinator Eylem Doğan Subaşı and Ministry of Environment and Urbanization Chemical Management Branch Specialist Ahmet Daşkın.
Prof. Dr. Ivan Holoubek presented Introduction to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (SC), Introduction to the Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Best Environmental Practices (BEP), Introduction to Unintentionally Organic Pollutants (uPOPs), Inventory and Sampling and Analysis of Industrial Chimney Emissions during first two days of the training.
The third day of the training began with the speeches of UNIDO Representative Süleyman Yılmaz and practical training was completed in which the participants were able to study the emission measurement processing approach step by step. This practical training was carried out partly on the inside (presentation, discussion etc.), partly on the Isdemir plant site (ongoing measurement in the selected chimney) and presentations of Isdemir company were held in the factory.
