Under POPs Legacy Elimination and POPs Release Reduction Project, Activity 3.2.2, Best Available Techniques and Best Environmental Practices (BAT/BEP) Training Program was held on 7th -8th December, 2016 in Holiday Inn Hotel, Ankara.
Training Program began with the opening speeches of Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, General Directorate of Environmental Management, Presidency of Chemicals Management Department, Deputy Manager of Priority Chemicals Branch Mrs. Bursev Doğan Artukoğlu and UNIDO POPs Legacy Elimination and POPs Release Reduction Project Technical Coordinator Şenol Ataman.
In the first day of training, Prof Dr. Ülkü Yetiş gave presentation on Stockholm Convention, POPs and its properties. On the same day, Chemist Derya Sarıoğlu from Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, General Directorate of Air Management presented the legislation on the Control of the unintentionally produced POPs in industrial facilities.
In the second day of training, Prof. Dr. Ülkü Yetiş relayed her knowledge on Best Available Techniques and Best Environmental Practices (BAT/BEP) and POPs control in priority sectors. On the same day Gender Specialist Zeliha Unaldı presented a topic on Chemistry Management and Gender Equality. At the end of the training Prof. Dr. Ülkü Yetiş shared some examples on the best available techniques. The training was completed after questions and evaluation part.
